It has been felt that there is a tremendous need of trained teachers in secondary and higher secondary school of our state, particularly in the district of South 24 Parganas. The Raidighi College, with the help of eminent educationists and scientist of the locality, has come forward and set up Raidighi B.Ed. College. It has received the approval of Calcutta University and other appropriate bodies.
It is known that knowledge explosion and epoch making advancement of science and technology in recent times have made it almost imperative to improve the system of education as well as the teaching – learning process at all levels, particularly at the school level. In order to cope up with such changes, the improvement and updating of school education and teacher education, again is all the more necessary and urgent.
In order to achieve the target of Quality – Teacher – education, National Council of Teacher Education (N.C.E.T.), the apex body of teacher education in the country, has set up certain norms for B.Ed. Colleges. It is a great pleasure for us to announce that we are following norms, to the satisfaction of Calcutta University and other bodies. We have also assured that other formalities will be observed by us in near future.
The excellent teaching and non-teaching staff members, we hope, would do their best for the all round development of the B.Ed. College up to the satisfaction of the beneficiaries, as well as of the concerned authorities.
Education is bipolar process. The intimate relationship between the teacher and the taught through intimacy, interrogation and interaction coupled with mutual modesty and humility is likely to create a lively learning atmosphere in the college. The institution, we are sure, would earn credibility and admiration from persons at all corners of the society by its persistent and consistent efforts to improve itself through positive action and constructive suggestion of all concerned.
